The 27-inch edge is forged from 1060 high-carbon steel, a sweet spot that holds an edge through tatami cuts, flexes forgivingly under imperfect form instead of chipping, and sharpens easily when it finally dulls. A full-length bo-hi lightens the swing and delivers that clean tachikaze whoosh with every cut. Gold accents on the habaki, fuchi, and kashira give it an elegant color palette, while black samegawa under a tight cotton wrap locks your grip during use or a dramatic Soul Society photo op. Finished with Benihime’s crimson tassel, it’s equal parts working sword and display piece.
